All About Joe Vitti of Vitti Audio
A native of Downers Grove, Illinois, Joe attended Illinois Wesleyan University, where he studied classical music, jazz, education, and audio engineering. While in school, Joe interned at Oxide Lounge Recording in Bloomington and designed lights for seven IWU Opera Theater productions. After leaving school, he worked as a freelance audio engineer, flyman, and lighting technician all around Chicagoland. In 2018, he accepted the position of Production Electrician with the IWU School of Theatre Arts, where he oversees daily tasks in lighting, sound, video, and rigging. He is also a frequent sound designer, having designed numerous shows at IWU and elsewhere. Head of the audio department at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts, Joe has recorded and mixed in numerous venues all over central Illinois.
Outside of work, Joe is veteran aquatics director and camp administrator with the Scouting America. He is involved with the congregation at Christ the King Episcopal Church in Normal, IL. Joe loves to fly-fish, sail, and spend time outdoors with his girlfriend, author and mental health advocate Morgan Rondinelli. A multi-instrumentalist, Joe has performed on euphonium, bass trombone, tuba, flute, and percussion.
Joe is an alumni of the Alpha Lambda chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity, a proud journeyman member of IATSE Local 193, and a ETCP Certified Entertainment Electrician. He holds Audinate Dante Level 3 (Advanced) certification.
